Hello Gold Hillians,

Many of you have asked what can be done to solve the problem of folks speeding through town.  I have been in contact with Boulder County Transportation Dept. regarding our speeding problem and they have been very responsive with sharing traffic calming ideas that have worked in other mountain towns in Boulder County.  The first step to solving our problem is to conduct some speed studies at various locations in town.

I have attached the map given to me by the transportation department with the proposed locations for such speed studies.  The blue dots are the proposed areas to measure speed and the red dots are where they already measure speed in our area.  Please take a look at these locations and let me know  any feedback you have regarding better places to conduct such studies.  This speed study will have to be done in the spring after the last snow.

Once we have an accurate idea of where the problems lay, Lesley will come to a GH town meeting and talk with us about traffic calming solutions obviously taking into account emergency vehicle access and snow removal.
