Scholarship available

I just received this announcement this morning.  The deadline is Monday (!),
but I contacted the person (Ryan McCoy) and he will accept the essay from
applicants through Monday, and the rest of the application items later in
the week. As of today, there have been no applicants for these scholarships.

Here’s the announcement:
Good Day Boulder County Campus,

The Foundation would like to inform you of a scholarship opportunity for
your students.  The Grainger Foundation will be offering 5 $1000 scholarship
to students seeking the following certificates and/or degrees: Applied
Technology; Emergency Medical Services (EMS);Geographic Information Systems
(GIS);  Physics; and Women Studies. The student must also be enrolled in 12
credit hours and have a GPA of a 3.0.  (please see other criteria below)

Please forward the information to the appropriate people/students and get
the word out.

Please note students will be required to submit the following to Ryan McCoy
via email Ryan.mccoy@nullfrontrange.edu no later than July 25, 2011 by 1pm.

1.      Applicants must attach two letters of recommendation from a teacher,
employer or professional in the community and submit in the scholarship
application.

2.      Applicants must complete an essay stating why he or she is deserving
of the award, submitted in their scholarship application.

Grainger Foundation Scholarship

Purpose / Intent / History
To provide financial assistance for students pursuing a Technical degree and
future career in business.
Scholarship Specific Requirements:
1.      Applicants must be pursuing a certificate or degree program in:
Applied Technology; Emergency Medical Services (EMS);Geographic Information
Systems (GIS);  Physics; and Women Studies
2.      Applicants must be taking 12 credit hours or more.
3.      Applicant must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
4.      Applicants must demonstrate financial need, in essay, letters of
recommendation, and FAFSA score.

Standard Requirements:
1.      Applicants must be a US citizen or an eligible noncitizen with
appropriate government documentation.

2.      Applicants must be a Colorado resident.

3.      Applicants must submit FAFSA score in the scholarship application.

4.      Applicants must attach two letters of recommendation from a teacher,
employer or professional in the community and submit in the scholarship
application.

5.      Applicants must complete an essay stating why he or she is deserving
of the award, submitted in their scholarship application.

Application Process

list of instructions and the link for the on-line application.

Responsibilities/Commitment
If awarded, the recipient of this scholarship will be asked to sign a
contract which outlines specific requirements that must be maintained in
order to receive scholarship funds.
