Subject: RED FLAG CONDITIONS on SUN 8/25 – NO OPEN BURNING

Good afternoon,

The National Weather Service has upgraded the forecasted Fire Weather Watch to a Red Flag Warning for areas of Boulder County tomorrow – Sun 8/25.

This means that Open Burning is PROHIBITED County Wide. This will be in effect for the entire day – starting at 0001 until 2359.

Additionally, Monday and Tuesday are forecasted to moderate some, but the Red Flag Warning could extend into these days.

Lastly, please use patience across the mountain areas when making contact with residents and recreationalists. With the Red Flag Warning occurring later in the weekend, it is probable that some folks will not know about the increase in fire danger levels.

Fire Management will have 7-day staffing starting tomorrow to help assist and be available for questions if needed. And, as always, don’t hesitate to page to the FDO or give me a call on my cell.
