CLOTHING CLOSET:

This is your friendly reminder that our Clothing Closet is Open to ALL Peak-to-Peak Residents! Remember, everything is FREE!

OUR VERY OWN OUTDOOR

WALK-IN COOLER

Big THANK YOU’s to all our community members and volunteers who helped us get our very own outdoor walk-in cooler! This is such a huge step for us as we really needed this extra storage to keep our food safe and sound.

We had an amazing team come together to help put it all together, and we couldn’t have done it without you!

And let me tell you, there’s nothing quite like walking into our new cooler; it has that fresh ‘new car’ smell that makes us smile big every time!

We appreciate you all so much! Thank you for your support and generosity!

LOCAL LOVE & THANKS!

Big shout out to Ink Haus, AJ McMillen, and Everett Nielsen!

We want to send a huge thank you for the awesome donations of spaghetti, crackers, and men’s underwear for our Food Pantry and Clothing Closet.

Also, a big shout out for hosting the fun food drive and tattoo raffle event! They collected over 220 pounds of food for us to distribute! Your generosity has me thinking about my next tattoo!

Thank you to Indian Peaks Ace Hardware for the Register Round Up in July supporting the Nederland Food Pantry! Each year, Ace helps raise funds for the Pantry through this round-up, and each year, we’re reminded of how incredible our mountain community is! Thank you for always showing up for our nonprofits!

We don’t have the final total yet, but we already know our community rocks!

Thank you for shopping local!

BUDGET FRIENDLY RECIPE

Herbal Infused Lemonade

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup fresh herbs (such as mint, basil, sage, chamomile, peppermint, or lavender)
  • Lemon slices for garnish
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a small pot, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Remove from heat and add the fresh herbs. Cover and let steep for about 15-20 minutes. This will create an aromatic herbal infusion.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice and sweetener. Add the remaining 3 cups of cold water and stir until the honey or sugar dissolves.
  3. Strain the herbal infusion into the pitcher, discarding the herbs. Stir well to combine all the flavors.
  4. Refrigerate the lemonade for at least an hour before serving to let the flavors meld.
  5. Serve the lemonade over ice, garnished with lemon slices and additional fresh herbs, optional.

Add flavor and wellness!

  • Mint – Great for teas, salads, and desserts.
  • Basil – Perfect for pasta dishes, salads, and pesto
  • Sage – Delicious in stuffing and roasted veggies.
  • Chamomile – Best known for calming tea.
  • Peppermint – Excellent in tea, desserts, or smoothies.
  • Lavender – Adds a unique flavor to baked goods and teas.

Thank you!

If you’re interested in helping, we’d appreciate it! Our mountain community has a special way of coming together and every bit of help counts. Whether volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word, it all makes a difference.

You’ll find our change jars at Dam Liquors, Peak Liquors, and Mountain Goat Tees—every contribution, no matter how small, helps us support our friends and neighbors in need. Just think: one can, or one coat may seem insignificant, but when everyone pitches in, it makes a real difference! Your monetary donation, regardless of the amount, helps us to purchase nutritious foods and warm clothing. We’re stronger together, and we genuinely appreciate your kindness and generosity in making our community a healthier and better place.
