National Preparedness Month

Posted on: August 9th, 2025

National Preparedness Month is just around the corner – and we want to highlight the things that past Boulder Office of Disaster Management workshop and program participants (YOU!) have done to get disaster ready!

Since attending one of Boulder Office of Disaster Management’s workshops did you…

  • Take steps to create a personal or household preparedness plan?
  • Work to get prepared for disasters that would impact your workplace?
  • Partner with neighbors to plan and prepare together?
  • Organize and prepare with your neighborhood, or a community group you are a part of?
  • Planned for your pets?
  • Have thoughts/advice you’d like to share with other community members?
  • Something else?!

If you are willing to share thoughts about your preparedness journey or steps you’ve taken to become more prepared we would love to hear them – please fill in this quick form, or if you prefer, e-mail me to share your experience!  The goal of gathering this information from past participants is to help real lived experience from folks in our community come to life, and in turn empower others to take steps to become disaster ready.

I appreciate each of you for taking the time to participate in programming our office has put on in recent years, and hope to see you another time in the future!

If you have any questions as you continue on your preparedness journey please reach out!  Check out our schedule of upcoming events (including a few new workshops) at https://boulderodm.gov/preparedness/events-workshops/
