I am now home in my beloved historic Gold Hill where I have lived since 1979, birthed Jacob, September 21,1981 and Alex, June ,1987. The past two weeks I have been

nurtured by amazing caregivers at University of Colorado Hospital Anschutz Pavilion Neuroscience ICU and unit. I am safe and comfortable after a 6 hour procedure and 13 hour very serious surgery on my brain for the removal of a lemon-sized tumor on  my brain. My incredible sons Alex, Jacob and angel Molly took charge of my life and slept by my side. I watched on the TV as nature was flooding our beloved mountain roads, community and friends homes.

I deeply appreciate your prayers, cards, letters and flowers and respect for my privacy. This has been a life changing experience. My Sister Sara, a registered nurse, who  is 22 months older than me has come from Pennsylvania to care for me and guide the healing process to insure it continues in a safe, and secure manner. I need a quiet and peaceful environment so that I can direct my energy to healing and this will take some time. I get overwhelmed by too much stimulation and now do not want to revisit it.  I am looking forward and not back and prefer not to have to talk about this.  I have chosen not to drive until spring and I will miss seeing you in “all our old familiar places”.

 Winter will soon be upon us and I welcome your help with certain essential things :rides to town, grocery shopping, shoveling snow, filling my wood box. An occasional delicious nutritious, freezable meal would be terrific. If you are available to help with any of these things please leave a message in my voice mail or mailbox.

Otherwise, for now, please do not call or drop by unexpectedly.
