A Special Glendi at the Schoolhouse this Wednesday Sept 7, 6-9 pm. Special because it will be my birthday party (no gifts, just show up!). Also because the band is all pumped up for the Boulder Greek Festival coming up this weekend, Sept 9-11: http://www.tasteoforthodoxy.org/  at Saints Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church 5640 Jay Road Boulder, Colorado 80301. Both the Glendi and the Greek festival have fabulous music (the Glendi band, aka Sherefe this month, is truly world class), good food, and the chance to get up and move as much or as little as you like.

Neighbors, folkdancers, musicians, locals and visitors, families, friends and singles; all are welcome. Potluck at 6 (feed the musicians) then music from 7 till 9 pm with traditional folk dance music from around the world, usually Greek plus other Balkan flavors. Free dance lessons for beginners. This month the Glendi Band will feature James Hoskins, Jesse Manno, Julie Lancaster, Brett Bowen and Dexter Payne.

Looking ahead, back to first Wednesdays, so October 5.
