MERN Ham Radio Class October 11th and 12th

September 28th, 2014

MERN Ham Radio Class October 11th and 12th I will be teaching a Technician Class ham radio class at the Highlands Park Camp on October 11th from 9am to 3pm and on the 12th from 10am to about 1pm. We will break for lunch and everyone should bring a “brown bag” lunch and your own drinks and snacks for the day. You will have to buy a study book: Technician License Course from HamRadioSchool.com. You can get it from Ham Radio Outlet in Denver or also form Amazon for about $19:  http://smile.amazon.com/HamRadioSchool-com-Technician-License-Course-Turner/dp/1477595457/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404678602&sr=8-1&keywords=ham+radio+school .  Be sure you get the book for 2014 to 2018 and designate BCARES as your “Smile” recipient (Thanks!). The exam questions changed slightly after the first of July so older book will not be the best resource. Start reading the book before you get to class. I will have an ARRL Volunteer Examination team back on Thursday evening October 16th so you can take the test. We will talk about how to study for the test and you should have plenty of time to prepare. I have had very good success and everyone can pass. Please get back with me to confirm your attendance. If you know other people who would like to get their ham radio license, please have them get in touch with me and share this information. There is no age limit to get your license, “the more the merrier” as far as I’m concerned and anyone may attend. I just need to know how much material to prepare for the class. I do lots of demonstrations and will try to answer all questions. I am looking forward to meeting all of you, George R Weber – KA0BSA grweber47@nullgmail.com
