Colorado Parks and Wildlife is offering a grant award to communities and organizations helping promote and implement methods to reduce human-bear conflicts. Due to difficulty in meeting the minimum reimbursement amounts of the grant, Jamestown locals and members of Save Our Bears have secured interest from Boulder County Parks & Open Space to steward the process and to support our application for funding. The proposal will support our mountain neighborhoods in securing trash and human food waste from bears, the top reason bears become habituated and begin developing problem behaviors. Your interest in and commitment to helping reduce conflicts with bears can help us secure this grant and improve how we live with wildlife.
