Cemetery barbed wire project

The Cemetery Committee will attempt to complete the barbed wire project on Sunday September 21st at 9:30 am.  Anyone interested in helping to remove the dangerous barbed wire along the road to the Cemetery, please come with gloves, long sleeves, and be prepared to sign a release form prior to working.  Shouldn’t take more than an hour if we all pull together.

Thank you, Maggie

GH Gold Rush – reminder

Don’t forget!  The Gold Hill Gold Rush (our annual Bake, Crafts, and Rummage sale) is this Sunday, September, 7th.  Calling for Volunteers!

Special Town Meeting 9-8-25 info

Hello Gold Hill-

This is a reminder for our upcoming Special Town Meeting, on Monday, September 8th at 7PM to discuss the bylaws. The ongoing conversation around bylaws was visited in our August 11th meeting. For more information on this August discussion, please see Getchen’s minutes  sent in her August 30th newsletter. This Special Meeting will be focused solely on revisiting specific bylaws for approval, and speaking more generally about the best approach to continue bylaw efforts. There will be no other agenda items or committee reports.  We are hoping to get as many participants as possible, so that bylaws reflect Town input. Any Town members with remaining concerns on specific bylaws, or creative ideas for garnering more participation on the bylaw process should attend.

The meeting will be held in person at Gold Hill School, with a virtual option- linked below.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Treasurer’s Report for GHTM 8-11-25

My apologies!  The report in the GHTM Minutes for 8-11-25 was from 2022!  This was all I found in Google Drive and I didn’t notice the date.  It is, however, the only thing in there at this time, so I do not have a report.  Also, it seems that this page in Google Drive is not accessible to the general public.  Hopefully we can get this all straightened out soon.

Sincerely, Gretchen Diefenderfer, Secretary

Bocce Fall Classic

The weather was on-again, off-again, but the bocce was totally on today. Lots of new faces, and of course many veterans as well. In the end, age and treachery (represented by Bear Carlson and Tom Huth) prevailed over the youth and skill of newcomers Clinton Pierce and Taylor Ferrari 12-7.

Another good time  on the court! See you again next summer.

Deadhead your invasive weeds

Hello Everyone! Please please please deadhead your invasive weeds or knock them back somehow! The seeds have been blowing all over the place– into your neighbors yards and into wild areas. You and your neighbors will have to deal with many more invasive weeds next year. They simplify and smother the native ecosystem. Please knock them back before they spread even more!

Thank you, Pam

Chrissy likes the various reports and has them posted on Google Drive. To access Google Drive, go to Google, in the upper R corner click on the box of 9 dots, click on Google Drive, then click on the little house labeled Home on the left and you will see the bylaws and the Treasurer’s reports (https://drive.google.com/drive/home). Several people expressed that Google Drive and QuickBooks can be confusing.  Martha thought that QB is more for accounting versus bookkeeping, which is what we did previously.

Next on the Agenda was consideration of bylaws – after discussion, the consensus was to move to New Business – Elections – then reports and then vote on the 3 bylaws that were up for a yay or nay and see where we are.   Gretchen made a motion that we schedule a Special Town Meeting to focus on the remaining bylaws up for consideration/discussion.  General agreement was expressed.

Elections – With that we moved on to elections.  Michael expressed thanks and appreciation for everyone who has served on our present Council.  Dan announced that he was stepping down.  Gretchen asked if he might reconsider – he’s done a great job and we all appreciate him. Val concurred, but he added that he’s done it for 10 years and has other things he wants to focus on.  We have generally started with the Chair.

Val nominated Kelly Veit for Chair, Martha seconded.  Kelly was uncertain and wanted to see what transpired with the rest of the Council.  Martha volunteered to be Vice-Chair.

Dan then thought we should flip the order and begin with the Member at Large.  John agreed to continue, which was unanimously supported and congratulations expressed.

Secretary – Gretchen agreed to continue, was also unanimously supported.

Treasurer – Val nominated Chrissy if willing, but she also declined.  Janos asked how many hours per week the position required.  Chrissy responded that it’s like all the jobs on the council – it’s what you make of it.  Just paying the bills and keeping track is not usually too time consuming, it’s what else you hope to do (like the bylaws).  Dan nominated Martha, Michael seconded, and she was elected unanimously.

Vice Chair – Martha nominated Kaitlin, Gretchen seconded.  She agreed and was elected unanimously.

With that, we were back around to Chair, and Martha nominated Kelly, who agreed to run, added she was happy to learn it and asked for a little grace.  Val seconded and Kelly was also elected unanimously.

So, our new Town Council:

         Chair                  Kelly Veit

         Vice Chair           Kaitlyn Barthell

         Secretary             Gretchen Diefenderfer

         Treasurer            Martha Knapp

         Member at Large John Hatelid

John proposed that Dan continue to run the meeting as Kelly is on the road and participating by Zoom and Dan agreed.  Dan thanked everyone for stepping up and Val added thank you, thank you, thank you – general clapping all around.

Committee Reports

AirLink – generated more discussion.  Really, it’s an affiliated organization, is its own 501(C)3, Dina Elder is mainly in charge and doesn’t live in Gold Hill any more.  However, we are holding $1000 in donations/grant money for them and are committed to $500/year to support the Ham radio tower up at Gretchen’s, which facilitates emergency communications. Also, we appreciate knowing what’s going on with them.  Chrissy added that there are also several community members with Ham licenses who participate.

Senior Alliance – Val’s synopsis of GH Area Seniors’ Activities

July’s meeting (@ Firestation) dealt with the following topic: Caregiving, presented by Rima, Rebecca, and Pam S.

August meeting, hosted by Paul and Marybeth covered: Transportation, report from Val.

Discussion of meeting frequency with an outcome of continuing monthly.

         Spontaneous social after.

Plant workshop 8/10/25 by botanist Kaitlyn and florist Joanne.  Collected and educated on weeds and made arrangements.

Upcoming Social 8/23/25 2-4 details to follow.

Plant/seed social w/Kaitlyn leading, details to follow

Cemetery – no report

Fundraising & Merchandise – John reports GH water bottles are in and will be for sale at the Gold Rush, September 7, Sunday.  It will be somewhat scaled down – no music – but will focus on baked goods, rummage, crafts.  Calling for volunteers to help.  Gretchen volunteered.  More info out soon – Addendum, see announcement and flyer on website (goldhilltown.com)-  https://goldhilltown.com/gold-hill-gold-rush-2/

Gold Hill School – School (K – 5) starts Wednesday, the 13th.  They have 12 students, one full-time teacher (Chrissy), and Christine who is ½ time office help and ½ time para.  Possibly will be looking for another 15-20 hour para.

Historic Zoning – no report

IMA – Pam Sherman sent an email:

IMA continues to be a hub connecting with ODM. ODM’ Emergency Coordinator Monika Weber introduced the new Emergency Manager, Ryan Singer. Monika will be doing emergency prep events throughout September and for Wildfire Awareness Week. The latter will be coordinated with Meg Halford of Wildfire Partners and Pam Sherman of IMA and PLT (Project Learning Tree.) Unusually strong and frequent chinook winds are expected for the next few weeks, so prep for evac now; be prepared, whether we end up getting evac’ed or not.

We talked about the difference between WEAs (Wireless Emergency Alerts) and Everbridge Notifications. WEAs go out to everyone, tourists, visitors, residents and to a wider area. They are not specific. Everbridge Notifications go out to only specific areas; that’s why they ask for your address(es) when you sign up.

Thank you,   Pam

Local Business Partnership – No report, but Kelly is recruiting people to join the committeel  Kalyn Pembridge voliunteered.

Mountain Stewards – Virginia reports that Boyd Brown and Marcus Moench worked on a grant application that came up suddenly.  They met with Boulder Watershed Collective (BWC) in cooperation with the BLM.  For the Fire Mitigation Festival, the goats were successful with fuels reduction in the town meadow. The BLM is finished with their work.  There are piles of slash down Lickskillet to burn in the future.  Val added that she also worked with the BLM (her place is surrounded).  The BLM by State law isn’t allowed to take out trees larger than 7”.  Wildfire Partners has a “Junk the Juniper” push planned.  We’ve sent a note asking if we can get assistance (up to $10,000) to work on this.

Dan added that they did get the grant application in.  The Fire Department and the BWC  would facilitate.  Yes, the goats were very successful in providing a massive fuel break in the town meadow for the second year in a row, so we should be able to see how effective this proves to be. Home hardening was accomplished on 3 residences on Main Street.  Lots of slash was disposed of in the dumpsters.

Museum – no report , but Dan volunteered that the Community Outreach went really well and the Museum is open on weekends.

Native Gardens & Ecology Committee – Kaitlyn expressed thanks to Val for helping with two events – the June Meadow weed walk and the July weed workshop.  There will maybe be a seed collection event in the fall.

NeighborLink and SafeLink – no report.

BYLAWS

Vote on Proposed Bylaw Changes

 Article II: Membership  Proposed Addition

Section B, Membership Voting Procedures

The GHTM shall establish procedures and methods to ensure that only eligible members participate in elections, that all members are properly notified of the election, and that the nomination and voting processes, including all relevant deadlines, are clearly communicated in advance.

Election procedures may allow for voting to take place over a period of up to three (3) days, beginning with the date of the annual meeting.

The Town Council shall determine the methods of voting, which may include any combination of:

  • In-person voting by show of hands;
  • written ballot;
  • Voting by electronic means

Maggie moved we adopt, John seconded.  In the discussion, it was stressed that the voting options are to provide flexibility in case of something like COVID happens again.  Motion passed: 10 Ayes, 1 opposed, and 1 abstention.

Article III: Members Meetings Proposed Addition

Section G, Parliamentary Authority and Meeting Procedures:

The GHTM shall conduct meetings in an orderly, inclusive manner that encourages good faith participation and respectful conduct. The general principles of Robert’s Rules of Order shall be applied, unless they conflict with the GHTM’s bylaws or any special or standing rules. The Chair, or the facilitating Town Council member, shall determine whether such a conflict exists and how to proceed.

In the discussion,  Gretchen suggested that everything after “The general principles of Robert’s Rules of Order shall be applied” should be deleted.  Val noted that it says “Proposed Addition” so discussion should be allowed and if it’s decided that we want to amend it, it will need to be voted on at the next meeting.  It was moved to table this, Michael seconded, and it passed unanimously.

Article VII: Financials

Section B, Financial Oversight and Budget Adjustments: Proposed Changes

All checks, drafts, notes, and similar financial instruments shall be signed and executed on behalf of the GHTM by Town Council members who are authorized signatories of the GHTM.

Once the annual budget has been approved, any adjustment to a committee’s allocated funds from the town’s general budget shall require approval from the relevant Committee Chair. Committees may spend their designated funds at their discretion, provided expenditures align with the committee’s stated mission and purpose.

The Treasurer is authorized to adjust non-committee operating budget allocations as necessary to meet the evolving needs of conducting GHTM business.  New purchases require GHTM approval.

Maggie moved we adopt, John seconded.  Discussion ensued regarding the last paragraph concerning the Treasurer being authorized to adjust the budget, but the motion passed with no nays.

Special Town Meeting to discuss further bylaws – Gretchen moved that we schedule another Special TM to continue discussing the bylaws on Monday, September 8.  Dan stated that he would love to see better participation.  Martha added that she has heard from several people that they no longer attend TMs because they’ve been taken over by the bylaws so the Special TM might help.  Chrissy expressed that we’ve been working on them for so long and that there has been opportunity for input many times, but Val said that she has not heard about specific bylaw committee meetings and that it’s important for people to know about them and have the opportunity to participate.  Leslie then suggested that a big issue is interest and attendance and that maybe we should do a massive campaign to let people now they’re members of the TM beyond the town emails – maybe send a postcard to everyone in the TM area.

Chrissy added that she thinks the website needs a great deal of work or we need a new one.  Gretchen responded that she’s spoken with Angela, our website person who set it up for us originally 11 years ago) and has a lot of pointers about tidying it up, but could use help.  Martha thinks we need to add a static link to Google Drive, since Chrissy put the bylaws, treasurers report, etc. there.

Maggie said she’d vote against a Special Bylaw TM if we’ll be discussing bylaws already approved as well as those still to be decided.  Gretchen expressed the opinion that some were approved without enough discussion – like the one that lets the TC have the town meetings whenever they decide rather than the second Monday of even months as it’s been (Article III, Members Meetings, Section A, General Membership Meetings).

The motion to have a Special TM on September 8 passed with 7 in favor and 4 nays.

Virginia added that it’s easy to get the list of property owners as well as the addresses of the actual property (in case the property owner is elsewhere) and it takes some work to get a good list.  Martha offered to help write the postcard if we decide to send one to everyone in the TM area

Michael moved we adjourn, it was seconded and passed unanimously.

Respectfully Submitted, Gretchen Diefenderfer, Secretary

GH Business District Committee

Hello Gold Hill!

First, I want to introduce myself for anyone who doesn’t know me, I’m Kelly and I’m your new Town Council Chair. If you don’t yet know me, you certainly know my daughter Gus, or my dog Scout- both of whom serve as the welcoming crew for anyone walking up and down Main St.

I’m following up on a message last week about the Business District Committee, as I have heard some questions and confusion on who to contact about it.

The intent of the Business District Committee is to find creative solutions to some of the growing pains associated with business within our town: noise, congestion, and parking. We are seeking a diverse set of perspectives, personal experiences, and ideas, from neighbors throughout town and the subdivision. This will be a space for constructive feedback and well-intentioned suggestions.

As we know, our town has evolved quickly! We aren’t immune to the downsides of growth, including increased tourism to Boulder County, and increased awareness/ access that comes with the modern age. But we have opportunities to refine what this looks like In a way that best serves our community.

As a reminder, the Town Council has no authority to force or demand any operating changes from the businesses in town. So, this Committee is formed in a good faith effort for community-driven collaboration, resulting in some helpful recommendations to our business leaders.

If you would like to contribute your thoughts to questions such as-

  • How can we be in the driver’s seat of our own growth? Are there creative ways to harness the potential benefits of business growth to serve the community as a whole?
  • Are there solutions to address the above concerns, without unintended negative impact on the businesses in town?
  • What recommendations can we put forward that are equitable, actionable, and realistic for all town businesses?

Then, we’d love to have you join the Business District Committee!  Please reach out directly to me if you’re interested or have any questions-

Thank you-

Kelly

GHFPD Board Meeting, Monday, July 21, 2025

         Minutes by Gretchen Diefenderfer

Next Meeting – Monday, August 18, 2025, 7:00 p.m. at the Firebarn and by Zoom

MEETING BUSINESS –

The meeting was called to order at 7:13 by President Kent Coghill.  Present were board members: Kent, Boyd Brown, Max Yeager, Jessica Brookhart, and community member Gretchen Diefenderfer.  Attending by Zoom were Chief Rich Caudill, Marcus Moench, Nicky Andrews, and Leslie Finn.

Minutes of the last meeting were accepted after 2 corrections – the company being considered for transporting our new truck for us is Acertus, and our truck 5439 (not 3902) was the one used in the dump and fill test).

FIRECHIEF’S MINUTES – Rich introduced Nicky Andrews, who has volunteered to help with communications and outreach.  She reports that she has set up an Instagram account, plans to expand Nextdoor and Twitter, to connect with other local agencies.  She took pictures on the 4th and plans to take more.  She’s working on a press release for the new truck and will send that out.  Will also communicate with the locals and put up flyers.  Would like to make our website more accessible and promote SEO.  Feel free to reach out to her by email or text (nicolajaneandrews10@nullgmail.com  +1 (734) 730-4088.

Rich added that we’re honored that she volunteered to work with us.  And, she’s excited to be aboard.

Operational Needs – Radio supplier reports they should be here in a couple of weeks.  Scott Whitehead will program them and ship to truck manufacturer.

Rich has obtained 21 smoke detectors donated from Lowes, Home Depot, and Costco.  Not much interest at the 4th of July – will do more outreach in the fall.

Will put out a feeler – any seniors without one?  Would like to get 30.

Training – Going pretty well.  Had a multi jurisdiction training on Thursday – pumping and drafting demonstrated increased skills.

Maintenance – Max reports that he has the permits from Boulder County. The gas line trench should be done by end of the week and ready for inspection.

Garage doors – had permit meeting for the drawings, which Brandon Jeffrey sent to Yates.  Also has back up engineer – Paul Gallagher. Brandon Jeffrey has an invoice for $1400 – holding until know drawing is accepted.

Electrical – will call Bishop again.

Has an invoice for 4 pea gravel – needs two 55g drums to store for icy conditions.

Jesse Farmer has all the pieces/parts for the hydrant (has been delayed because truck broke down)

Max reports still waiting on engineer drawings for garage doors – has spoken with D.H. Pace and Mark Montgomery.  Probably go with 12’, 10’6” height-wise.  Rich has also spoken with D.H. Pace about fabrication times for the doors once we have the engineer drawings and have feedback from Boulder County on the drawings.  Max will keep it all moving as well as can.

Equipment Needs – Zoom on our TV?  It doesn’t have a camera?  We can connect wirelessly or HDMI cable and plug into a computer and the mic and camera remain with the computer.  Also have new computer bought last year that could be set up.  Motion to purchase camera and mic – spend up to $300 – to get Zoom set up.  Passed.  Rich will shop.  Board and Chief should definitely know how to use.

Infrastructure – Invoice for electrical – $4800 – expensive, but more than reasonable. Now everything GFI’d.  Probably additional invoice – had to make several trips.

OPERATIONAL READINESS

Strategic Planning – Boyd reports there are still evacuation details to put into the plan.

Capital Replacement Plan – no report

Budget – no report – hasn’t put in deposit for 4th of July

Vehicles – Some water leaking from 5439 and 5402.  They used the booster line at training and new valve on passenger side – Kent will check.  Max checked 02 on Saturday and water had stopped – will keep an eye on it.

Rich reports that Dave Sturtz has put out check lists for post use, has purchased primer fluid, antifreeze, and proprietary blend of oil from the manufacturer – has switched to bio-degradable – they’re identified on the containers which truck they’re for.

Inspections?  Rich asked about the board’s pleasure – annual? at the service center?  We get points for the ISO rating from Brian Nichols, but will be at a cost of $1200 to $1500 per truck.  Max had thought a one truck per year cycle, but if contributes to lower ISO, then yes.

New apparatus number?  Info to follow.

UTV discussion – what about use at night?  It’s a great vehicle during the day, and we meet the requirements for use at night, but the lights are minimal and liability rests with the district.  Max added it means less wear and tear on the other vehicles in rough terrain. Leslie added that it’s not suitable for patient transportation because of the tank. Is visibility solvable with a better lighting system?  Rich thought so, with better emergency lighting, too. Also needs mirrors and a horn!  Boyd suggested not to use at night at this point and get Dave Sturtz or Greg to check out.  Kent added we should improve the lights and mirrors and reassess.  Jess agreed – not at night and as always evaluate as conditions require.  We do have a list of certified and trained operators – and rolling SOGs for campfire response and medical calls.

Maltese updates? Kent still working on – deadline for decision is September.

Inventory – no report

General – ISO updates – rep Brian Nichols will be getting info to us for August.

Need to set up of an executive board session for Chief’s 1 year mark, which was June 15.  Consensus at this meeting – he’s done a great job and we’re lucky to have him.

Administrative – Plaque for Marv’s – Kent will confer with Chris Finn and Leslie about a small gathering at the Beer Garden.

OTHER BUSINESS

Grants – Boyd reports Watershed Collective, Longmont and Boulder Conservation District, Gold Hill people, and Boyd representing the GHFPD will submit a grant on Wednesday for $800,000 for planning and mitigation.  Also conferring with Meg at Boulder County regarding being a Firewise Community, which helps with home hardening and protecting the whole community.  The Boulder and Longmont Conservation Districts are more interested in bigger pieces of land.  The grant goes from 2026 through 2030.  We’re interested in requesting 2 things – 1. Paying for the Chief’s expertise and time spent over and above what we give him and 2. Possible money for education and communication purposes for Nicky.  Also, will clarify that we’re not big enough to implement big mitigation projects and will submit a budget for $9,000 to facilitate the firewood project as part of the Firewise Community.  Wants board ok for him to represent the district – ok’d.  Implementation will be under the Watershed Collective – Patrick Crist is the new director.  Marcus contributed to the writing.  He wanted to add that this all happened on a real short timeline – they had 10 days to write a grant of this size – harbinger of the future, but they can do a lot with cutting and pasting from previous applications.

Website – Jess will give access and passwords to Nicky.  Boyd also talked to Nicky about talking up the File of Life

Vector Solutions – Boyd asked if it’s being used.  Are the volunteers using it?  Rich said we haven’t migrated anything there yet, but will be.  Big advantage is it gives cred. for structural training – minimum of 20 hours annually, plus stores credentials and has lots of continuing medical education for EMTs, etc.

COMMUNITY EVENTS/FUNDRAISING – 4th of July – Leslie reports the money was comparable to last year (more kids came).  We’re good with supplies.  Was mostly pretty nice flow with some backups.  Greg might be doing it next year – Leslie says she will not.  Need to re-up our QR code.  Venmo worked.  Jess suggested we need more sausage and bacon – maybe triple.  Discussion around making pancakes ahead of time and keeping warm in oven for times when line backed up – also, perhaps more grills?

Parking –  Leslie said we do need more signs (no parking this side, no parking here to corner, etc.) and people do pay attention – not a matter of getting enforcement.  Suggested we go to the County Commissioners for roadwork, drainage issues, culverts, etc. and thinks they’d be sympathetic.

NEW BUSINESS – Liability Insurance – BFIS Insurance is up for renewal and is 34 pages – she may need help

Rescue equipment – Rich is requesting up to $1500 recommended by climbing specialist.  Would like to be able to set up 5:1 uphill extrication. Also need rope and rope bag, bucket with apron for tools, prussics, pulleys, helmets.  Boyd moved we support this, Max seconded and the motion passed.

Jess moved we adjourn, Max seconded and we adjourned at 20:50

Respectfully submitted, Gretchen Diefenderfer, Secretary.

BUDGET FRIENDLY RECIPE

Herbal Infused Lemonade

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup fresh herbs (such as mint, basil, sage, chamomile, peppermint, or lavender)
  • Lemon slices for garnish
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a small pot, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Remove from heat and add the fresh herbs. Cover and let steep for about 15-20 minutes. This will create an aromatic herbal infusion.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice and sweetener. Add the remaining 3 cups of cold water and stir until the honey or sugar dissolves.
  3. Strain the herbal infusion into the pitcher, discarding the herbs. Stir well to combine all the flavors.
  4. Refrigerate the lemonade for at least an hour before serving to let the flavors meld.
  5. Serve the lemonade over ice, garnished with lemon slices and additional fresh herbs, optional.

Add flavor and wellness!

  • Mint – Great for teas, salads, and desserts.
  • Basil – Perfect for pasta dishes, salads, and pesto
  • Sage – Delicious in stuffing and roasted veggies.
  • Chamomile – Best known for calming tea.
  • Peppermint – Excellent in tea, desserts, or smoothies.
  • Lavender – Adds a unique flavor to baked goods and teas.

Thank you!

If you’re interested in helping, we’d appreciate it! Our mountain community has a special way of coming together and every bit of help counts. Whether volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word, it all makes a difference.

You’ll find our change jars at Dam Liquors, Peak Liquors, and Mountain Goat Tees—every contribution, no matter how small, helps us support our friends and neighbors in need. Just think: one can, or one coat may seem insignificant, but when everyone pitches in, it makes a real difference! Your monetary donation, regardless of the amount, helps us to purchase nutritious foods and warm clothing. We’re stronger together, and we genuinely appreciate your kindness and generosity in making our community a healthier and better place.

If you want to learn more about how you can get involved, click the ‘More Information’ button below.

Thank you for being a part of our mountain family!

A big thank you to all our amazing contributors for your hard work and creativity that make this newsletter so special! We appreciate everything you do and can’t wait to see what you share with us next time!

No Pre-Labor Day Party at Max & Deb’s cabin

Labor Day is just around the corner and even though we thought that we’d possibly be finished with the cabin by now, we aren’t.  Sadly we’ll have to cancel the Sunday before Labor Day party again this year.  Sorry for having to do this but we have no other choice.

Thanks for your understanding.

National Preparedness Month

National Preparedness Month is just around the corner – and we want to highlight the things that past Boulder Office of Disaster Management workshop and program participants (YOU!) have done to get disaster ready!

Since attending one of Boulder Office of Disaster Management’s workshops did you…

  • Take steps to create a personal or household preparedness plan?
  • Work to get prepared for disasters that would impact your workplace?
  • Partner with neighbors to plan and prepare together?
  • Organize and prepare with your neighborhood, or a community group you are a part of?
  • Planned for your pets?
  • Have thoughts/advice you’d like to share with other community members?
  • Something else?!

If you are willing to share thoughts about your preparedness journey or steps you’ve taken to become more prepared we would love to hear them – please fill in this quick form, or if you prefer, e-mail me to share your experience!  The goal of gathering this information from past participants is to help real lived experience from folks in our community come to life, and in turn empower others to take steps to become disaster ready.

I appreciate each of you for taking the time to participate in programming our office has put on in recent years, and hope to see you another time in the future!

If you have any questions as you continue on your preparedness journey please reach out!  Check out our schedule of upcoming events (including a few new workshops) at https://boulderodm.gov/preparedness/events-workshops/

be just as dry, and also be a little windier than Thursday. Slight
relief should come through the weekend with a gradual cooling
trend and winds diminishing by Sunday.
...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO
8 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Critical fire weather conditions will continue Friday across the
higher elevations with dry and windy conditions expected ahead of
a cold front.

A gradual cooling trend is expected this weekend into next week,
but dry conditions will likely prevail through most of the period,
especially over the higher terrain.
