Spiritual and emotional care providers and communities of faith are primary resources for post-disaster support.  This year’s summit will integrate local government planners and emotional and spiritual service providers with our military mission providers to discover capacity building models of success that can be incorporated throughout the region.

As an integral part of any community, local faith-based organizations are uniquely equipped to work with other agencies to provide healing emotional and spiritual support services to fellow citizens.  For this reason, the 2016 Summit objectives are:

·         Educate and determine how spiritual and emotional care fits into disaster recovery

·         Promote integration of spiritual and emotional care capabilities into disaster preparedness plans

·         Enhance awareness of spiritual and emotional care resources and capabilities within the region

·         Strengthen spiritual and emotional care/behavioral health networks in support of disaster victims and first responders

Attached is the Summit flyer and agenda.
