*Nederland and Allenspark Sort Yards are Open
*Annual Spring Cleanups in Nederland, Allenspark and Gold Hill

*Forestry Tip of the Day: Pine Needle Collection – Starting May 31
Forestry Tip of the Day:
Got pine needles? We have some great news to share! Starting Sat., May 31 we will begin accepting pine needles and grass clippings at the Nederland and Allenspark sort yards!

Due to limited funding we do not anticipate accepting pine needles for the entire summer.  The service will conclude when funding is exhausted. This pilot program will help determine if there is demand for this type of collection in the mountains. Funding is being provided thru a partnership with the Town of Nederland and a grant by the Rural Utilities Service, United States Department of Agriculture.

When Hauling:
• Haul yard waste in reusable containers. You will be required to dump material directly into a dumpster.
• Keep yard waste separated from slash and logs.
• We accept pine needles, grass clippings, leaves, pine cones, bark mulch and other organic yard waste that can be composted.
• Noxious weeds: When working on noxious weed management haul weeds in sealed compostable bags and let our sort yard staff know you have weeds.
• Do not drop-off any construction materials, root balls, dirt, furniture, trash or wood with metal wire on/in it at any time at any forestry sort yard site.

As reminder, residents living closer to the city of Boulder can haul yard waste to Western Disposal’s yard waste facility. County residents receive a 40% discount at this fee site. More info:http://www.westerndisposal.com/drop-center/yard-waste/

*Nederland and Allenspark Sort Yards are Open
It must be spring; the buzz of chainsaws is in the air! Folks from throughout the mountains are dusting off their chainsaws and getting out on their land implement implementing effective wildfire mitigation and improving the overall health of their forests. You can haul your slash and logs to either sort yard for no charge!

The sort yard season is off to a fantastic start with a bunch of early season activity. Our sort yard staff Wayne, Holly and Nathan look forward to seeing you at the yards this summer! Complete program details are available here: http://www.bouldercounty.org/property/forest/pages/fhsortyards.aspx

*Annual Spring Cleanups in Nederland, Allenspark and Gold Hill
Annual spring cleanups are occurring in mountain towns starting next week. These events are great opportunities to get all that combustible junk off your land and away from your homes. Each event has different requirements on what they accept so please visit each event’s info page before hauling.

Household Hazardous Waste: New this year we are accepting Household Hazardous Waste at the Nederland and Allenspark events only. Please refer to the attached flier for more info. You must preregister online or call 720-564-2725 to dispose of hazardous waste at these events.
Cheers,
Ryan
