Caucuses

Tuesday, March 4, both political parties will hold their caucuses. Participants will be able to begin registering at most locations as of 6:15 or 6:30, and the caucuses begin at 7:00 p.m.  Gold Hill is in Precinct 909.  The Democratic Caucus for our precinct will be at the Gold Hill Elementary School.  The Republican caucus will be at Fairview High School.

This is grassroots democracy and your opportunity to have a say about who will be on the primary ballots and what is in the party platform.

Democratic and Republican caucuses are open to the public, including members of other parties or unaffiliated voters who might want to show up just to watch, but Democratic and Republican voters have to be officially affiliated with their party as of last Jan. 6 — and had to be registered as residing in their local precincts as of Feb. 3 — in order to participate and vote in the March 4 caucuses.

People can find a map to locate their precinct number at http://www.bouldercounty.org/elections/polling/documents/2013%20countywide%20precincts.pdf  and the locations of their 7 p.m. March 4 Democratic and Republican caucuses by visiting their county party’s websites or calling their county party’s headquarters.
