Neighbor Labor for Jamestown

Posted on: October 4th, 2013

Hi everyone:

I spoke with an artist in Jamestown who is creating and selling shirts to help the flood victims of Jamestown.  Here is his link.  http://campsteve.com.  If you have an interest in purchasing any, please e mail Steve.  He is really hopeful that he can bring in more monies.  At this point, he has already raised $4000 and he is donating 100% of the profits to this project.

He mentioned that Jamestown is in need of monies and people to help individuals clean up their property and homes.  Any interest in setting up some teams to go to Jamestown to help the town?   If we are going to send teams, it would be a great thing to have food for the workers and to possibly leave for the flood victims.  You may also want to consider challenging any coworkers that you know who might want to assist you with creating a team for this project.

Apparently the weekends are best.  This is when people who can get out of Jamestown are doing their cleanup work.   Jamestown was very instrumental in helping us when we were dealing with the fire 3 years ago.  It would be terrific if we could get some teams together to spend a Saturday or Sunday or several Saturdays and Sundays helping them clean up.

If you are interested, please consider putting a team of your neighbors together and let everyone in town know your intentions.  My idea would be to put a team or teams together  as next Saturday.  Any takers?  If you cannot do the physical labor, perhaps you’d be interested in offering up some great food for the workers and the flood victims.  Let me know what you think.  I’ll be happy to start a team list around town.

Thanks for thinking about this.
