Fire Poetry Event this Sunday in Sunshine Canyon

This is from Burt Rashbaum <Burt.Rashbaum@nullColorado.EDU> from Nederland.  He is passing on the information he has, which is a little vague, but this could be interesting.

There’s going to be a poetry event on Sunshine Canyon this sunday at noon. It’s going to be themed about healing the land from the fire.  The group got a grant from somewhere and they are going to be publishing the poets who read (and others i think) in an anthology sometime next year.  There will be other events planned (i have a website somewhere if you’re interested…).

As far as readers, there will be no opportunity for anyone to read other than the slate of poets already on the program, which is full. There will be no ‘open mike’ or list for folks to read after the invited poets. i don’t know how many folks will read, but i understood the event will take place from noon to 2, with each poet reading a maximum of 20 minutes. so that’s about 6 people. so anyone who would come, they would be there just as listeners. this is what i understand.

“If your friends would like to meet up at 11.30 in front of the public library, we can take them to our remote reading site. The event starts at noon, and it’s being held in the burned region at the top of Sunshine Canyon, just below a green residential house #7400. Our site will be in a low area, on the left hand side below the guard rail on the left. Our cars will be parked to the right.”
