The Keys to Creating and Maintaining Effective Defensible Space

When: April 25, 6:30-8:30pm
Where: Gold Hill Community Center (upstairs of the Fire Barn)

Program Description:

At this free forestry training you will learn about actions you can take to help protect your home and family from wildland fires. Ryan Ludlow, Boulder County Forest Health Initiative’s Outreach Forester, will present about the keys to creating and maintaining effective defensible space around your home. The training will focus on lessons learned from the Fourmile Canyon Fire Assessment and you will leave the training with a solid understanding about concrete steps you can take to better prepare your home and forest for future wildland fire.

Current research suggests that you, the landowner, can dramatically increase the likelihood of your home surviving the next fire if you decide to take action. Mark your calendars and plan to attend this informative action oriented training.

This program is offered by the Town of Gold Hill and Boulder County. All landowners in the Gold Hill area are encouraged to attend. For more information feel free to contact Ryan Ludlow at 720.564.2641 or rludlow@nullbouldercounty.org.
