You are invited to a Gold Hill community film screening of “Champions of the Golden Valley” at the Gold Hill Inn on Thursday, November 5th, 6 PM at the Gold Hill Inn

After moving to Gold Hill in August 2021, our neighbors Ben Sturgulewski and Katie Stjernholm embarked on a journey to complete their documentary, “Champions of the Golden Valley.” Since the film premiered in 2024 at the Tribeca Film Festival, it has been screened at more than 100 film festivals in 25+ countries, winning more than 50 jury and audience awards, as well as a 2026 National Emmy for Outstanding Sports Documentary.

Ever since I and others in the community first saw the film at the Denver Film Festival in 2024, we’ve been encouraging Katie and Ben to let us organize a Gold Hill community screening and the moment has arrived!

Mark your calendars for Thursday, November 5 @ 6 PM. A big thank you to the Finns for hosting the event. Light snacks, hot apple cider and popcorn will be served. The bar will be staffed, but the kitchen will be closed. Following the film, there will be a Q&A with Ben and Katie.

The event is free, but to help with the planning, please register here: https://tinyurl.com/GH-Champs.

Hope to see you there.
