Fire Marshall and Code conversation:

We need to seriously evaluate parking on Main St. from Hill St. west. That portion of the road cannot accommodate parking,

pedestrian traffic, and thru traffic simultaneously and can cause FD access issues or resident egress/ingress issues during

emergencies. My recommendation would be looking at hiring a part time fire marshall or working with the Chief to close that

section of the road to parking up to the fire station. Additionally, we would need to consider resident only parking

in neighborhoods as parking on parallel streets to Main St. will not and should not accommodate overflow from a closure of

parking on Main St. If we don’t do both efforts simultaneously then the issue would simply shift to Pine, Gold Run, and

College St.
