Forsythe II Post-Burn Site Visit
This Friday, June 9th
12:30 – 3:30 PM
Come join the USDA Forest Service’s leaders on a post-prescribed burn site visit completed by firefighters from the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests, as well as many local and regional partners, earlier this spring.
307 acres were successfully burned in the South Boulder Creek watershed above Gross Reservoir which is an important step in protecting communities, watersheds, and forests from high intensity and high severity wildfires. Come debrief with local Forest Service fire managers about how the design preformed during the prescribed burn, what fire affects were experienced during the operations, next steps for this area, and what it means to live in a fire-adapted ecosystem.
*Be prepared for Colorado weather with rain layers and boots. Don’t forget water and sunscreen as well!*
