Update on CDBG-DR funding

Posted on: September 25th, 2014

Hello,

I want to bring you up to date about the CDBG-DR program. As I mentioned during the neighborhood meetings we held in June the program continues to unfold and become more defined. In addition, other sources of funding have become available. Attached is a summary of the program.

Here are the highlights:

  • Everyone is encouraged to apply if you meet the basic eligibility criteria (see attachment). Even if your income is above the AMI limits, you should consider submitting an application. We need to know the continued unmet needs in order to understand what programs need additional funding or what changes to consider in rounds two and three.
  • Multiple properties utilizing a single access are eligible.
  • The state legislature approved an additional source of funds for septic systems, even for second homes (on a limited basis).
  • Owners of permanent rental homes (not vacation homes) should apply as they may be eligible in round two.
  • There are funds for demolition and removal of unsound or abandoned structures such as houses, modular homes, sheds, barns, garages, slabs or foundations and septic systems.

As of last week 171 applications had been received.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Garry
