Let’s Buy Tires and Firewood Together And Save Money!

We all live in the mountains, and most all of us need to buy tires for our cars and firewood to burn, so let’s act as a group and get a discount.

We’re calling this the “MTC” (Mountain Town Co-Op).

It works like this:

1.   It’s free to participate.  We are simply using the power of numbers for a group discount.

2.   Because we have about 80 people wanting to participate (and this number is growing), we can negotiate with local companies.  Tell your friends, because the more people we have in the MTC, the better deal we can get.

3.   You can get your tires or firewood whenever you want.  Just tell them you’re part of the MTC and you’ll get your discount. We’ll be providing them with a list of names, so it’s important that you give me your name and email address.  I’ll use your email address to update you, and it is not shared with anyone without permission.

4.   Below are answers to Frequently Asked Questions that people have asked.

Please contact Elon at elon@continualenergy.com to join the MTC.

MTC FAQ

  • You are under no obligation once you sign up.
  • You don’t have to just buy snow tires.  You can buy any tires.  The configuration doesn’t matter…as long as you are buying tires, you get the discount.  It could be 2 tires summer tires or 4 studded snow tires.  They could be big tires for an SUV or little tires for a Mini.  If they are round and rubber, you get them at a discount.
  • We are working with one locally owned and one nationally owned tire shop.  Different people have different preferences between locally owned and nationally owned, so this serves everyone.
  • I do not need to know what kind of car you have nor how many tires you want.  I only need to know how many CARS on which you want to put tires.  If you sent me an email asking to sign up, but you have MORE then one car in your household that you need tires for, please let me know this number.  I’m negotiating by number of cars, not by number of people, so the more CARS we have, the better.
  • The timing of WHEN you go won’t matter.  You can go in any day after I tell you WHICH companies we have our agreements with.  You just need to contact the tire or firewood vendor, get your quote, and tell them you are part of the MTC to get the discount.  With some of the firewood vendors there is no discount, but they are highly recommended buy other MTC members.
  • The tire agreement we have is 15% off the cost of the tires.  There isn’t a discount off the mounting and balancing and the other items (such as road hazard warranties).  So, if a single tire costs $107 you’ll save $64 off a set of 4 tires.  The firewood discounts vary by vendor.
