Featured Event! Mountain MidLife Dinner

Thank you to over 90 folks who attended our August dinner with Strangebyrds! At our next dinner, we will enjoy a participative demonstration of International Folk Dance led by instructor Tom Masterson. Please plan to stay for this easy and fun group activity from 6:30-7:30pm. Sign up now to join us on Friday, September 23. The menu is: Lasagna—Vegetable or Meat, WW Garlic Bread, Italian Garden Salad, Fruit. Doors open at 5:00pm; meal at 5:30pm. Please volunteer to greet at the door.

Kayak & Canoe on Gross Reservoir

John Leventhal, experienced kayak and rafting guide, leads a free sea kayaking and canoeing day for us on Gross Reservoir, Saturday, September 24, 8:00am, meeting at the South Boat Ramp (accessed from Hwy 72 just east of Wondervu, turn north onto Gross Dam Rd at the United Power office). We need to bring our own boats/gear via car tops (trailers not allowed), carry them about 100 yards, and have enough experience to be independent on the water. This is not an instructional outing, although he will gladly provide tips/advice as requested during the 2-3 hours we paddle around the Res, including stops for snacks/stretches. Boats must be marked with the owners’ names, addresses, and phone numbers and

everyone must have a whistle on their personal flotation device. He welcomes your questions via email or phone at lucky2b1 – at – gmail.com or 303-258-7712.

Featured Event! Aspen Leaf Community Pancake Breakfast & Raffle

The leaves are already turning but we are optimistic we will still enjoy brilliant color during the community pancake breakfast on Saturday & Sunday, October 1&2, 8am—11am, at the

Nederland Community Center. We’d love to fuel everyone’s family leaf-peeping driving tours and photo outings. We really need all hands on deck to cover all stations. Please consider volunteering to help for a couple of hours, especially on Sunday. We have loads of fun together serving neighbors and raising funds that support seniors.

Please help us spread the word of welcome to everyone – all ages – and let them know that the menu is more than fluffy pancakes—eggs, sausage, yogurt, granola, fruit, orange juice, and coffee round out the menu—all for only $5 over age 60 (requested contribution), $8 Adult, $4 kids under 12.

Our 50-50 cash split raffle to be drawn October 5 offers chances at $1 each or 6 for $5. Just drop in—no reservations required! Thank you!
