Dear Friends….
I have been in contact with Rebecca Lawrence from Ward in order to help her to provide some volunteer help from Gold Hill to Jamestown. As a Volunteer/Donations Coordinator, she has been busy scheduling not only Landscape Architects to meet one-on-one with residents, but volunteer groups to make the plans a reality. She has asked me to get a group of people from Gold Hill to help with the rebuild.  This (I believe) would be an opportunity for us to assist another community who was badly damaged in the 2013 flooding.  Here is the plan/Call For Aid:
Are you and your group interested in helping bring back beauty and stability to Jamestown? Yes? So let’s talk gardening!

As part of the Jamestown recovery, our sights are set on helping our residents begin to bring back their gardens/yards and reestablish trees along the creek. We need volunteers like you!

Please sign up to schedule your group for a Saturday work day (from 9 am – 2 pm) in May and June.

Groups will assist residents with:

Yard clean-up,Soil preparation, Landscaping, Planting plants, grass and trees.

Once you complete the form,  (Maggie will complete the form) the Jamestown Volunteer Coordinator, Nina, will confirm the activities you will be working on and what to bring.

Please note that lunch will not be provided on your volunteer day. However, you can eat where the locals eat! The Jamestown Mercantile would love to serve your group. If you are interested in lunch at The Merc, please let them know in advance how many are in your group. They accept all major credit cards and their number is 303-442-5847.

Maggie Simms has signed Gold Hill up to work on May 16 and 31… 9 – 2 pm.  Please call her at 303.473.0811 if you’d like to join “the James Gang.”  If you’d like to help Jamestown out – but cannot work on these two dates…you may use the above sign-up schedule to work as it suits you.
