A piece of Gold Hill history happened in 1972 up on the Shelf road.   Many people in Gold Hill  were involved in the rescue of two young girls abducted in Boulder who were left for dead on a snowy November evening.

Annabelle Miglia was a survivor who has written a book called Footsteps Out of Darkness which sells for $16.95 telling the story .   Many of the locals in Gold Hill who were involved also wrote about their involvement.
