The preparedness workshops will bet Sat April 18th and Sat April 25 from 10-noon

Nederland Community Library, along with partners Town of Nederland and Nederland Fire

will be hosting two workshops to aid mountain residents in preparing for wildfire and other

emergencies. Time will be allotted for Q&A. Topics to be covered will include:

● customizing your household preparedness checklist

● caring for pets

● shelter options

● neighborhood communications

● fire mitigation resources (Nederland Sort Yard, Saws and Slaws)

Checklists and other materials will be provided for all participants.

The workshops will precede Wildfire Community Preparedness Day on May 2, 2015 and a

workshop hosted by Gilpin County/ CSU Extension which will specifically address fire mitigation

for homeowners.
