Community Resilience Grants at Foothills United Way

Posted on: April 21st, 2016
Dear Government Partners,
Foothills United Way has long been involved in building resilience in Boulder and Broomfield Counties. Since the 2013 flood, our organization has been directly involved in rebuilding our communities that were so severely devastated, both by building community networks and providing the resources needed to get back to a new normal. As a part of our new strategic plan, our board is excited to announce our new Community Resilience Grants designed to support development of projects that build the resources and relationships necessary to address the needs of residents vulnerable to community shocks and stressors.

This innovative approach to strengthening communities requires the involvement of parties from across all sectors. Expanding on Foothills United Way’s traditional grantees to include potential partners we have not funded in the past, I am reaching out to you today to invite you to learn more. You are already part of a larger network that works to build resilience in our region. If you think this grant opportunity could benefit your organization or others with whom you do business:

  • Please share this information across your organization’s network.
  • Join us at one of our three info sessions in May geared specifically to clarify the purpose of the grant and answer any questions interested organizations might have. Following this announcement, we will send notification of info session times and locations.
  • Look for a formal Community Resilience Grant Request For Proposal in early June.

Please send any questions you may have prior to the info session to Amy Hardy, Community Resilience Director, at amy.hardy@nullunitedwayfoothills.org. These questions will be used to prepare an FAQ sheet to be made available in May.
