*Noxious Weed Alert! Purge Your Spurge Events
Do you have Myrtle Spurge in your backyard? Myrtle spurge is among the most aggressive weeds in Colorado, yet distribution is limited enough that eradication is possible. Un-managed this plant spreads widely, crowding out native species.

Boulder County Parks and Open Space and local agencies will be hosting two free “Purge Your Spurge”events on April 26 in Longmont and May 10 in the city of Boulder. Bring us bags of myrtle spurge and receive free native plants in exchange. For more about the events and the best way to control myrtle spurge please visit: http://www.bouldercounty.org/apps/newsroom/templates/bc12.aspx?articleid=3964&zoneid=6.

Volunteers Needed: The County is seeking volunteers to help pull myrtle spurge at six events this spring. Volunteers are especially needed at events in the Pine Brook Hills neighborhood on May 3 and May 22. To volunteer, register with Wildland Restoration Volunteers here: https://www.wlrv.net/index.php?section=events&action=list&type=projects or contact Lauren Poulos at 303-543-1411 or lauren@nullwlrv.org.

*Now Recruiting Volunteer Sort Yard Hosts
We are seeking volunteer sort yard hosts in Nederland and Allenspark. Volunteer hosts greet people as they enter the yard, collect user data and provide forestry outreach. Volunteers do not unload slash and logs. We are looking for individuals who can commit 10-15 hours per month, in 4 hour shifts, for at least 12 weeks during the season. Volunteers are most needed on Wednesdays and Saturdays. To apply, contact Shane Milne at 303-678-6089 or smilne@nullbouldercounty.org.

Cheers,
Ryan
