Bake/rummage/craft sale/fundraising ideas

Several of us met 9-30-13 (Peter Swift, Tony Vrba, Susan Fernalld, Diane Mehsling, and I) to look at what we might do about our GHTM fall fundraiser.  Given the road/traffic situation and the plea from the County to minimize our driving, we decided that we should not hold our regular event.  However, we would like to help our flood impacted neighbors.  Deb Yeager will be back in town on Thurs, Oct. 3 and we will look at our options.

From today’s Daily Camera: “A donation center for flood victims will be opening.  The 4 Mile Store for community flood relief has secured a location at 2545 Central Avenue in Boulder and is expected to open by the end of the week.  The “store” will accept donations and provide gently used clothes, toys and other goods to area victims of the floods.  For more information, go to 4milestore.org.”  We encourage Gold Hillians to donate directly, or bring your donations to Tony Vrba at 240 Dixon Road, 303 570-7403, any time between 8 am and 10 pm and she and Susan will make trips there.

In addition, we can donate to:

We’re considering a more local craft and bake sale (not widely advertised), and maybe some smaller  (indoor?) events later (Pie in the Sky/bake sale, chili cook off…….).  Then do something like a small bake/rummage/craft sale in the spring and our more regular event in the fall, to raise more funds for our flood impacted neighbors as well as replenish the town funds.

Please bring any additional ideas to help our flood impacted neighbors to the Gold Hill Town Meeting on Monday, October 14th, at 7:30 at the Community Center
